"The way I make my artwork is based on how I feel every day. Not only that, how the world sees me. The world sees a wheelchair, not me. I'm hoping, through my artwork, I'll be able to change that. I can do a lot more than you think..."- Yung Chen

About the Artist behind it all...
"Sometimes people in life, don't know what they're doing. But through artwork they figure out what they want to do. Thats what I did..."
This collection is based on big events in the artists life.
"Journey is a lot to do with all of my experiences. Alongside the many people have helped me and encouraged me to be the best I can be"
The second collection in the series, follows the artists creative journey.
"Process, is about how I've been able to be more open and creative by adapting my skills. I work with some help, but most of the work that I put in is done by myself. When I don't like something I can change it. I've been able to be more open and creative aboutmy life by adapting my skills.
The final collection is based on my aspirations and dreams for the future.
"At first I thought, I didn't know what I was going to do. Now I just give things a go and see where it leads. In my experience, it has lead to a lot of opportunities. Doing artwork helped me get out of my own depressive place. One day I'm hoping to get my own house, and reach new personal goals. Through my artwork, I want to display my happiness. Disability can take a huge toll on your mental health".
This new 2024 collection is about how I portray myself as an artist and a mentor for people all over the world.
Matariki is the Māori New Year celebration in New Zealand. My Matariki collection is a tribute to this special holiday. This takes place in late June or early July when the Matariki star cluster known as Pleiades appears in the sky. It is a time for feasting, storytelling, and bringing people together to honor the past and plan for the future.
Immersive reflections: Balancing between healthy mental health and poor mental health.
